Years of Experience: A veteran of nearly 20 years in the used industrial equipment business, Marc is a highly regarded specialist in the auction, liquidation, and appraisal field. He has participated in major asset disposition projects on behalf of Fortune 500 companies, lenders, and bankruptcy trustees. He has supervised hundreds of complete liquidations, including the 114-acre Todd Shipyards in Long Beach, California, a one-million-square-foot Smith-Corona plant in Singapore, five Singer Furniture plants in the Carolinas, and an eight-story General Mills plant in Chicago. Additionally, with a partner, he founded and operated an internationally recognized used equipment dealership which provided him with further experience in the purchase and sale of industrial assets.
Responsibilities: Marc provides leadership and guidance to the division through his careful and comprehensive approach to all facets of the appraisal process. His diverse and extensive liquidation experience allows Marc to effectively manage large, difficult, or seemingly unwieldy appraisal projects. Marc’s experience, market knowledge, and insight have enabled Great American Group to emerge as a leader in the M&E appraisal field. Additionally, by working closely and directly with our clients, Marc sees that the appraisal product ultimately delivered will allow the client to achieve his or her goals.
Other Accomplishments: Marc sits on the Board of Directors of both the Machinery Dealers National Association (MDNA) and the Association of Machinery & Equipment Appraisers (AMEA). He also serves as MDNA West Coast Chapter Chairman. Marc’s machinery & equipment experiences have taken him throughout the United States as well as into Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, China, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and South Korea. He has been a featured speaker at seminars presented by the ASA, the Commercial Finance Association, and other trade groups. During his tenure at Great American, Marc has managed equipment appraisals for Visteon, Springs Industries, Neenah Paper, Lord & Taylor, and Arvin Meritor, among hundreds of other assignments.
Education: Marc has earned the designation of Certified Equipment Appraiser (C.E.A.) as administered by the AMEA and he is an associate member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). He has successfully completed the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) course of instruction, as well as several advanced courses and seminars offered by the ASA and the AMEA. |
